Larry Green, Entertainment Direction and Experienced DJ/MC

Welcome. My name is Larry Green and I am President of Music on the Strand, Inc., providing music and innovative Disc Jockey Entertainment in the Myrtle Beach Area, along the Grand Strand, and throughout the Carolinas since 1980. Whether you want well-staged, memorable moments, full-throttle excitement on the dance floor, or romantic elegance, (maybe a combination of all three), I am ready to earn your business. The success of your event is my full time job.

In October of 2010, I  gained the  title of Wedding Entertainment Director™ and was inducted into the Wedding Entertainment Director’s Guild. Traveling frequently throughout the country, I serve as the Music Host, Master of Ceremonies and Event Director at wedding celebrations across the US. Additionally, I facilitate the entertainment for regional and national conventions. My audiences have included: President Ford, Senator Hollings, Governor Campbell, international model, Cheryl Tiegs, the Gatlin Brothers, and “Sausage King” recording artist, Jimmy Dean. More importantly, I hope to soon be serving you!

At Music on the Strand I am committed to the “DJ Entertainment Industry” full-time, everyday. There is no limit to the amount of hours spent devoted to planning an event. Each celebration, party, or gathering is special and unique. When not in the preparation phase for a specific engagement, or on location  performing, I devote myself to fine-tuning all aspects of my presentation, which includes staying well-versed and completely up to date in all music genres. With the exciting and amazing technology available today, I employ state-of-the-art computerized performance systems, and I love it! With this hi-tech approach, I can mix creatively, and “load and fire” the music quickly, with the most convenience and accuracy. This frees me up to better coordinate the proceedings, while guiding, informing, and directing the attention of those in attendance at the event.

As a necessary prerequisite to knowing what to play, what to do, and what to say, in order to get the best and most desirable results at every engagement, I’ve learned to constantly keep my hand on the ‘pulse’ of the crowd. This is important even when playing soft background music during an elegant banquet. (And naturally it applies to an “activities day” out at the pool, as it did at a well-known interval ownership resort in the heart of Myrtle Beach where folks had so much fun at one of my shows I was credited as responsible for three time-share sales!).

No matter how many skills and techniques we master, there’s always new things to learn. Regularly, I network with other DJs across the country as a good source for acquiring new ways to stage fun and be most effective as a Party Host. After 25 years, you can develop quite a repertoire of interactive dance floor routines and useful party games. Recently, on a Friday, I introduced a group of 13-year-olds to the “Charleston Shuffle” (an old line dance) and some Senior Citizens to the moves for “Step in the Name of Love” by R. Kelly the following Monday.

I love to make fun happen, and on many occasions, depending on the job, I’ve got to restrain myself from getting on the dance floor and partying with everybody. One of the best things you can do as a facilitator, and I always get a big kick out of doing it, is making it possible for everyone else to be the stars.

I will go the extra mile to assure that your presentation is tailor-made to your exact specifications. Give me a call: 1-800-359-5618. I look forward to giving your event 100% of my attention so that it will be remembered fondly for years to come.
